Obligatory “where does the time go” opening statement aside, November flew by. Maybe it was how crazy-booked of a month it was, filled with paperwork, work and travel, but I am SO happy it’s December.
Aside from the whole I fucking love Christmas thing, I’m going to Disney for NYE! So, seriously, this is an awesome month for me!
Since November came and went, I have a pile of stuff in front of me that I’ve been using a little extra this month that I want to share with you!
Like I said, I’ve been out and about this month, so it’s really been a good month to discover what makes the travel bag cut and what I can leave home for a long weekend.
The first absolute favorite of mine is the Redkin Color Magnets shampoo. It’s sulfate free and all that good stuff. After getting my hair extra blonde this month, I really didn’t want to mess around and have the color fade.
Usually, I am very, very picky about shampoo. Sulfate free, regardless of how good it is for you, really bothers me because it doesn’t always lather. I’m left feeling like a lifetime’s worth of product is in my hair and that it is weighed down more than usual.
This was not the case with this shampoo! It lathers perfectly and leaves my hair feeling amazing post-shower.
Next, is the ELF brow pencil. This has always been a favorite of mine, but for some reason, I switched back to NYX in September.
Well, I finally got tired of spending $10 for next to no product and reached for my ELF pencil. I’m not really sure why I ever stopped using it. Saying goodbye to NYX for a while and welcoming my ELF pencil back with open arms!
It lasts all day (after setting it, but I’d be doing that with any pencil) and the color is actually a better match than the NYX pencil. I’m deep brown.
Let’s skip around and talk face. It’s winter and my skin is begging for moisture. I never really got the whole silicone primer trend. I feel like they just slide my makeup around my face. Not this Too Faced Hangover RX primer. It creates the perfect tacky base for foundation and hydrates my skin to give it the nice glow that the cold weather has taken away.
I’m not really sure I know of another primer like the Hangover RX, so it’s an always favorite, but much more appreciated in the cold weather!
Next up is the Coty Airspun translucent powder. I’ve been concealing my eyebags a lot more now that I’m less tan and have been using this on a daily basis. Huge fan. I also found another use for this powder. Since I’ve panned my Smashbox grey shadow that I’ve been setting the brows with, I started using this Airspun powder to set my brows. Not sure where I heard this tip, but it’s great! And seriously, the smell of the powder is hardly an issue. It’s gone within minutes of applying the powder. Did I mention it’s $5? Yeah, amazing.
Next is Benetint! I’m not really a blush gal, but I love the tints from Benefit because they’re totally an easy way to have a natural flush. They aren’t powder, so it doesn’t add any cakiness to the face! I apply it under my makeup and go from there. It’s perfect for no-makeup makeup, or just for a really long-wearing blush day.
Back to eyes–almost done!
I’ve been all about my glitters recently, and have been using MAC’s Little Pigment in Kitschmas as a subtle/not-so-subtle touch of glitter to my eye looks.
I’ve also been using my Anastasia Beverly Hills Shadow Couture Palette on a daily basis. This was an impulse buy last summer and I have zero regrets. These are my favorite eyeshadow formula ever. While the palette itself was LE, I’d highly recommend any ABH palette or single shadow. This palette is perfect for travel and can do so many different looks!
Lastly (finally) is a nail polish! I bought it just for funsies in Hot Topic and really did not expect it to be as awesome as it was! The “HOLO” or shine really could not be photographed. I found myself staring at it and just zoning out to the intense shininess. Great polish for a great price! (They were buy one get one for $5 total!)
Thank you thank you thank you for reading along with me for another favorites post! Hope your holidays have kicked off to a cheerful start and let the holiday nail season begin!
