Hi everyone! I’m taking a short break from manicure posts because of a few horrible nail breaks in a few horrible places.
They’re not looking their best right now. Instead, I wanted to focus more on eyeshadow and refining my technique. I started following a bunch of editorial makeup artists and I’ve been feeling particularly inspired, so here we go.
I started by swatching my collection by color. This helped me figure out what I actually have v. what I think I need (a lot v. not much).
I stumbled upon this palette from MAC. I bought it during the first wave of contour hype, during the tail end. MAC released this Contour and Sculpt Yourself palette and it retailed for $60. To this day, it’s still the single most expensive makeup item I’ve purchased. Overall thoughts: not worth it.
I was about to sell it on r/makeupexchange, but I found a new purpose for it. Rather than use it as blush and contour (which didn’t work out great for me), I’ve repurposed it as eyeshadow. It’s shockingly on trend with the whole warm, peach thing that’s all the rage right now.
It’s MAC, so the quality is there, and they’re super easy to build and blend.
I might end up destashing and replacing one or two of these down the road, but until then, I’m going to use them until I can’t anymore! Below is a quick little look I threw together before work with these. It took all of 2 minutes to put together.
